Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
Liquidus Labs ("we," "us," or "our") builds hardware-accelerated applications. Most of these run in your web browser at liquiduslabs.com and its subdomains. A small number are also distributed as native mobile apps through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and as native desktop apps for macOS, Windows, and Linux through the Mac App Store, the Microsoft Store, and direct download from our website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect (Website & Browser Apps)
This section applies only to our website at liquiduslabs.com and the applications that run in your web browser. Our native mobile and desktop apps collect none of this information; see Sections 4 and 5. Our browser applications are designed to run entirely on your device, and we collect only the minimum information needed to operate them:
- Contact form submissions. If you submit our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide so we can respond to you.
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics on our website to understand aggregate traffic patterns, such as pages visited, downloads of our desktop apps, device/browser type, and approximate location. This data is anonymized and is not used to identify you individually. Google Analytics runs only on the website, never inside our native mobile or desktop apps.
- Locally stored data. Some applications save your work, settings, or preferences (for example, project files, themes, or saved shaders) using your browser's local storage or IndexedDB. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly export or share it.
We do not require account creation to use any Liquidus Labs application, and we do not collect payment information. Purchases made through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store are processed entirely by those stores.
2. How We Use Information
- To respond to messages sent through our contact form.
- To understand how the Service is used and to improve performance, reliability, and features.
- To protect the Service from spam and abuse (for example, via Google reCAPTCHA on our contact form).
3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and local storage for essential site functionality and for analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the Service may not function properly as a result.
4. Native Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)
A small number of Liquidus Labs applications are distributed as native apps through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and can also run as Audio Unit v3 (AUV3) plugins inside a compatible host DAW (such as GarageBand, AUM, or Cubasis). Our approach to privacy in these apps is deliberately minimal:
- No ads. The apps contain no advertising and no advertising SDKs.
- No analytics or tracking. We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDK inside the native apps, and we do not build usage profiles.
- No account, no sign-in. The apps do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or contact information through them.
- No mobile advertising identifiers. We do not access or collect Apple's IDFA, Google's Advertising ID (GAID), or any other device/ad identifier, and we do not perform cross-app or cross-device tracking.
- On-device audio and data. All sound is synthesized on your device, and any projects, patterns, presets, or settings are stored locally on your device. Nothing is transmitted to our servers.
- AUV3 plugin use. When run as an AUV3 plugin, the app operates inside your host DAW and exchanges only audio, MIDI, and plugin state with that host. We do not receive any of that data, and the host app is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Store-provided data. Apple and Google may provide us with aggregate, anonymized statistics about downloads and crashes through their own dashboards. This is controlled by the app stores under their respective privacy policies, not collected by us directly, and does not identify you.
Any OS-level permissions these apps request (for example, access to a Bluetooth or USB MIDI device) are standard iOS/Android permission prompts that you can grant or revoke at any time in your device settings.
5. Native Desktop Apps (macOS, Windows & Linux)
Some Liquidus Labs applications, such as LuluSplat, are available as native desktop apps for macOS (Apple silicon), Windows, and Linux. They can be downloaded for free from our website, or obtained through the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store. The same minimal approach applies:
- No account, no sign-in. The apps do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or contact information through them.
- No analytics or tracking. The apps contain no analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting, or advertising code, and we do not build usage profiles.
- Your files stay on your computer. Photos, video, and other media you open, along with the projects, scenes, and exports the apps create, are processed on your own computer and stored there. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, and the apps work fully offline.
- Direct downloads. When you download an installer from our website, the download may be counted by Google Analytics as part of our website analytics (see Section 1). This happens on the website only; the installed app does not report back to us.
- Store purchases and updates. If you obtain an app through the Mac App Store or the Microsoft Store, payment, licensing, and automatic updates are handled by Apple or Microsoft under their own privacy policies. They may provide us with aggregate, anonymized statistics about downloads and crashes, which do not identify you.
Any OS-level prompts you see when installing or running these apps (for example, macOS security checks or the Windows "Windows protected your PC" message for directly downloaded installers) come from your operating system and are governed by Apple's or Microsoft's privacy policies, not ours.
6. Web Apps on Mobile Devices (iOS & Android)
Aside from the native apps listed above, our browser-based applications are not distributed through the app stores. On iOS (Safari) and Android (Chrome and other mobile browsers) they run as a website inside your mobile browser. Because of this:
- No app install, no app permissions dialog. We never request OS-level permissions (contacts, photo library, push notifications, background location, etc.) the way an installed app would. Any access to hardware happens through standard, revocable browser permission prompts described below.
- Browser hardware permissions. Certain apps ask your browser for access to specific device capabilities to function. For example, PianoMomo Chords requests Web MIDI access to connect to MIDI keyboards/controllers, and simulators like vPhysics Lab or vChaos Explorer may read touch, pointer, and device-orientation input for interactive gestures. These permissions are granted or denied per-site by your mobile browser, are never silently enabled, and can be revoked at any time in your browser's site settings.
- No mobile advertising identifiers. We do not access or collect Apple's IDFA, Google's Advertising ID (GAID), or any other mobile ad/device identifier, and we do not use the Service for cross-app or cross-device ad tracking.
- No push notifications. The Service does not send push notifications on iOS or Android.
- Add to Home Screen. If you choose to save a Liquidus Labs app to your phone's home screen (a browser-native shortcut feature), it continues to run as a website in your mobile browser's engine, not as a downloaded native binary, and remains subject to this Privacy Policy.
- Local, on-device storage. As on desktop, any saved projects, settings, or shader/circuit files are stored using your mobile browser's local storage or IndexedDB, on your device, and are not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly export or share them.
7. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the Service:
- Google Analytics: traffic and usage analytics.
- Google reCAPTCHA: spam protection on our contact form. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Google Fonts: web font delivery.
These providers may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
8. Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping. Data stored locally in your browser, on desktop or mobile, remains until you clear it or your browser removes it. Files created by our native apps stay on your device until you delete them.
9. Your Choices
- You may decline to submit personal information via our contact form; doing so simply means we won't be able to reply to you.
- You can clear locally stored application data at any time through your browser settings, including on iOS and Android.
- You can delete projects, scenes, and exports created by our desktop apps at any time, and uninstall the apps using your operating system's usual method on macOS, Windows, or Linux.
- You can deny or revoke browser hardware permissions (such as Web MIDI or motion sensors) at any time from your mobile browser's site settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on on desktop, or by disabling cookies/site data for liquiduslabs.com in your mobile browser.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please reach out via the contact form on our homepage.
